Oh, sadly I live in Miami, which is nowhere near SAQ. But, I'm guessing the weather is going to be almost the same, rain and sun. My friend who goes to college up there said it's around 50F at night. Still, I hope you have a great time!

^aw, thanks! I guess things will be OK around Sarasota (better than the snow, ice, cold we have here). I won't see family and I have a friend who lives near the airport I probally won't find either but all I need is a little sun, 50 at night would be heaven since all we hope around here is to get a bove freezing.

Katie13: I'm glad things worked out for you.

^ Can't say I've ever heard of the song before, but it was kinda nice. I'm glad it cheered you up.

So I was talking to my mom about how next year I'm looking forward to staying at the beach houses after prom like everyone does.. and when I say everyone, I mean everyone, but my mom said she wont' let me go because she doesn't trust me.

I've never done anything to ever lose her trust. I'm a straight A student and i've never gotten in trouble at school. It's not like I've done things with boys either because I've never even been kissed or held hands with someone. I've never had a beer or done drugs.. I don't see why she can't trust me. And I know other girls who are just as good as me go to the beach houses as well and nothing bad happens unless you decide to go to the bad people's houses.

I was really looking forward to that, because I dont' dance, so what fun is prom going to be if I don't even dance? I probably won't go if I can't go to the beachhouse

^not unusual for moms to be overprotective and if u have been good, she probably wants to keep u out of harms way but, of course I agree with you. I was up all night when we had prom (had breakfast at one of the parents houses, tho) then went to the beach for the day and was at home that night. hope this turns out OK for u

^It might trivial in the grand scheme of things, but that doesn't mean it's not important.

RaHoSa: You mom loves you and you already know that. I'm guessing she trusts you, but sometimes things happen that even we're not aware of. Since it's still a year away, try to sit down and talk with your mom about the topic. Who knows maybe she'll reconsider and everything will work out for you.

So I've liked this guy since november and I think he's liked me at one point. He asked me to be his valentine, but then for valentines day he didn't even wish me a happy day. Just recently he asked to be my partner on a book project, but I don't know if that's because he likes me or I'm his only friend in that class. Which I'm not, but I think I'm his best friend. I just can't tell anymore. He sits at lunch with me and lately he's been coming to sit at the table and then rests his head on my shoulder for a second and then eats, but he leaves me halfway through lunch and goes somewhere else. I just don't understand. He just sends mixed signals. At his play, he bypassed a couple people and went straight for me to give me a hug and then apologized to the other people and said "Oh sorry, I just saw rachel and I had to give her a hug". Then we went on a field trip once and he sat by me the entire time rather than his best friend.. but then he turns around and does things like not talking to me as much in English class, or not walking me to Chemistry anymore. Then he turns around once again says things like "If I were to change my last name I would change it to Alexander. Maki Alexander.. Sounds nice, huh? Rachel Alexander. Rachel Alexander. It just rolls off the tongue." as if we were getting married. I guess the signs point to him liking me, but I think he's like that with a lot of people. He's a big flirt, so I don't know what to read from it.

But this situation is depressing me.. and I definitely cannot make myself ask him how he really feels and he's said things like "I don't like society's labels on relationships. Either you are interested in someone, you like them or you love them, and that's it. That's why I've never had a girlfriend. Ever, because I don't like the label" or something like that.. so even if he did like me.. I don't know what would happen between us.

I need to find someone else to like, but this is probably the first time I've ever liked someone and them possibly like me back and them be available.. Last time someone liked me, they had a girlfriend and I had already stopped liking them when they told me that they liked me. It's just I've never had a boyfriend, gone on a date, been kissed or even held hands with anyone. I really wanted this to work out, but I don't think it will. It's depressing.

and holy crap that was long.

Raquel- You seem like such a grounded person. Truly. I mean you understand what the situation is and are dealing with it in a very mature way. The only thing I can say is don't let your guard down over this. I really hope it works out for but if it doesn't, it doesn'. It's okay, you'll be fine. You have a really mature chip on you shoulder and don't let it go away from this situation. I think he will come around and if he doesn't than it is his loss. At the end of the day don't beat yourself up for it, be glad that you are the one with the correct thinking. I don't know if I helped but I hope everything works out for you!

I agree with Dicaprio, don't let the situation get the best of you. If the guy doesn't come to you, then it's his loss and soon you'll find an amazing guy for yourself (perhaps someone like Jake ). Don't let this depress you.
