You only have one year left??oohh..Will you be continuing on at uni after that?.
I have 12 exams altogether,although 5 are pointlessly easy,so it's basically 7.We've done a little over half so far.
Can't wait for them to be over.

Yep, only one more year. It frightens me so much. I go back to school week after next for two weeks to start my A level work and then one more year and then after that I will be heading off to university. I hope to go to one in London because it is amazing. I want to study Philosophy and then become a teacher. So strictly speaking I will only be leaving school for three years!!!!

How many years left do you have left?

I know what you mean about pointless subjects, we have to do one called general studies. Thats precisely it, general, boring and stupid. You can't even revise for it because they can ask you basicly about anything, good job I know alittle about politics because it is all the exams seem to be on.

Don't worry they will be over soon. After the exams last year i burnt some of my revision notes, felt so liberating. You should treat yourself to something.

Woo, I finished my exams too! I only had 5 (one was a dumb exam called citizenship, basically the same as Rach's general Studies) and I am SO damn relieved now that they are over. We get next week off...then right back to school to start all our new modules. Ugh...

Everyone has finished their exams except me? ...great

And Rach, you dont need to be frightened of finishing,I mean, sure it'll be a change, but hopefully it'll be good...you're gonna have fun at uni ...and London is awesome!I hope to get into a uni there to do a course in biochemistry.
I have 2 years left at college..then I can go to uni and I can't wait ...although major relocation is gonna have to take place .
Your general studies sound harsher than what we get...LOL ..with us its split into subjects like R.E. ,Economics,Ancient greek Language etc.... basicaly subjects which you dont need, but have to do ,for god knows what silly reason

Hey Breen, long time no talk. Doesn't it suck that we have to go back to school. At least i will have loads of free periods because I am dropping music.

Ryan, biochemistry sounds hard, well worth it though. What do you want to do after?

Me and Breen have only finished because we are going our AS levels and they finish earlier than any other exams. Last year I didn't finish until the 16th June if I remember correctly.

Breen, i did citizenship for GCSE, so boring.

Ancient Greek sounds interesting Ryan but I don't understand when you will ever use it!!!

I also wondered if anyone has a Nintendo Wii because I am really interested in buying one?? Are they good? Are the controls easy to use?

I have a Nintendo wii! They are pretty damn awesome. And easy to use. You literally just wave your hand about. Although, you have that hand condition don't you? Does it hurt when you, say, play tennis? Because it's a lot of wrist movement.

Except I still haven't got mine out of the box since we moved (sorry Sergio!!) because I've been so damn busy. So it's just kinda sitting there in a box. Not being used. It feels like such a waste.

Even though we are going back for A levels, we still have to go to all our lessons, even if we are dropping them. So no extra free period for me. I'm dropping English, but since we are starting a new module and I have to be there, It'll mean i'll have to buy the book/play that we are studying and the poetry books. Evn though I won't be studying them. Which takes the fucking piss. They cost like a tenner each! Grrr.

I'm confused with all the A levels and AS stuff! ...It all works to a completely different system out here.

Rach, hopefully with a biochemistry degree I can get a job in medical research for drug companies, although with none of those which practise animal testing ...I'm totaly against that!
And yea,Ancient Greek is sooo pointless..

Breen ,is there absolutely no way you can get out of doing all those lessons?I remember I had to do something like that last year but managed to avoid it.

Btw,I also have a Wii,and I agree with Breen, they're awesome and easy to use!But If you already have a condition with your hand you may have problems,it does strain your wrist a little. The only bad side with the Wii I find is the games are expesive, almost 60 euro...But i guess you wont have that problem in the UK.

I officially have one more year of university. And it's soo scary because I've been going to school non-stop since I was six and now I don't know what I'll do when I'm done. Since I wanna be a musician the "best" thing to do is study abroad and practice alot but that'd mean turning my life upside down. Hah, I never thought I'd say this but I wish I could stay in school longer.

i think I might wait until my hand is better before getting a Wii. Hopefully it will be sorted in a few months. I am having an MRI scan at the end of the month and if that shows up what the consultant thinks is wrong I can have an operation... fingers crossed.

That is stupid that you can't get out of the lessons and also that you have to buy the books. Can't you borrow them? We are meant to go but because I have given up my flute (until my hand is sorted) I can't do music because practical is 60% of the course so that is my excuse.

Ryan the school system is easy. In years 10 and 11 when you are 14-16 you do your GCSE's. You take them in the summer of year 11. You have to do things like english, science, maths but you pick some other subjects. i did drama, textiles, music and history. It can vary but I think you can do about 9 to 11 GCSE's give or take. Then you go into year 12 and that is your AS year. You normally do 4 subjects along with a stupid one like general studies or citizenship that the school make you do. Apart from that you aren't made to do any subjects like at GCSE. I do Music, Textiles, Religious Studies and English. the AS year goes towards half of you over all A level that you need to get into university, most like 3 of them. In year 13 you do the other part of the course and most people drop a subject, like me with music and Breen with english. Also long with the complusary subject what ever it is. My school only makes you do general studies if you get a C or above, as I got an A in my january exam I think I might be stuck with it next year aswell!!!! Hope that makes sense. How does it differ for you.

I think a lot of companies are stopping to test on animals with many searching for alternatives. I am totally against it as well. Lets hope its a move in the right direction.

good luck mrs.jacknasty on all yours exam. I hope they go well.

Nemi, that is what I am really scared about, not knowing what I want to do after university. i certainly know what people mean when they say school is the best time of your life. I can totally see that now!!!!!!!!!!! Hope it all becomes clear for you.
