**** moved this to this thread******

I just rented Bubble Boy for the first time ( i know idiot me, so late) and the beginning where he talks about the place he calls home which is Palmdale California, I kid you not I lived about 30 mins from there my whole entire life!!!!!!! I was sooo excited b/c where I lived alot of things got filmed there ( a Goo Goo Dolls vid was shot 3 streets down from my house), but the location is never Palmdale, Lancaster, or Rosamond , it's always simulating some other place..... I was soooooooo freaking weirded out by it in a way.. I had to rewind it like 6 times and when I watched the commentary Jake actually points out " There's beautiful Palmdale California" ....... any way I was really really happy b/c of that !!!

1 more thing I noticed was when Jimmy's mom is teaching him about the Indians in school and he has that test and he gets it right, did anyone notice that she puts a GOLD STAR sticker on his bubble.... I thought that was ironic seeing as in Highway , the pop quiz/ gold star thing was pretty big in it...... thought it was cute!

^^ did you hear at the time they were filming a film there, is there any chance you would have known? You have a right to be excited, i know i would be.

Did you enjoy Bubble girl lucky7babe21? I always watch it when i feel down, if i watch BBM i get even more depressed. I love the end bit with poonany (spell, have i miss hear) so funny, cracks me up everytime.

I'm expecting Bubble Boy (and Highway) from Amazon tomorrow. I've never seen it, and I've been persuaded by the IHJ community that I must give it a go. So I'm excitedly looking forward to the weekend! I'll let you know what I think..... K

I didnt really hear about them filming, in that area they kept things hush hush about filming..... I LOVED Bubble Boy!!! It was sooo funny!! I loved the part where Slim and him were going down the strip in Vegas and he goes "WOW" and I love the part when Slim goes " You like feeling that wind in your hair ?" and the look Jake/ Jimmy gives is sooooo effin cute!!!

I never expected to like this movie, I'd assumed that it was just for kids, but I saw it today for the first time and I love it! Not sentimental whimsy at all but clever, controversial and hysterical. Jake is a scream in it (it's good to see him in a comedy for a change). That suit must have been a bugger to wear, particularly while mud wrestling or riding on the back of a motorbike through Vegas. A great supporting cast too. The commentary by Jake and the director Blair is a pure joy - I was crying with laughter! It was IHJ that inspired me to buy this movie and I'm so grateful!!!

I like it too. My sister doesn't like it though. She says that Hollywood shouldn't make fun of people in Bubbles.

Well exactly the same for me. I didn't expect to like it a lot and now it's been several days I've been singing "bright and shiny" "having a bad day" "growing up"... I never listen the rocky theme the same way now Weird how songs in jake's movies are just easy to recall (Donnie Darko first on the list).

I saw Bubble Boy yet again this evening...I love it!! Even my completely nonJakeloving, slightly jealous partner enjoyed it and was clutching his sides with laughter. He liked the bikers most, the squashed cow and the mudwrestling most (possibly rather predictably) while my favoutite scene was where Jimmy tried to steal his girlfriend's favourite beer and then passed out after the tiniest sip. I also love the bit where he's in the car and sharing an emotional moment with his dad. I had to share this with you, because I'm a BubbleBoyConvert.

I just saw Bubble Bot for the first time 2 weeks ago. Since then I think I've watched it like 15 times. I was having a bad day, on Thursday, so when I got home from work I immediately put it on. It made my day so much better! I just love all the lines in it...I actually say them along with the actors. It's just an AMAZING movie...
