I love these pictures. They give me a really good feeling about Brothers, and especially Jake's performance. Looks like another great Jake character.

Haven't seen this posted here. Even if you're not a Johnny Depp fan, there might be a reason to see Public Enemies. Some posters on imdb saw an advance screening, and the Brothers trailer was shown.

"Pretty good" and "pretty fantastic" are the two reviews of the trailer.

We are definitely going to see "Public Enemies", so I'm excited about seeing the preview of "Brothers".

The trailer had so many twists and just SO MUCH STORY in it.

***SPOILERS FOR THE TRAILER***

-Due to Tobey's death, Portman and her daugthers are having a tough time dealing with it.
-Not as tough as Jake though because he obviously misses his brother a lot.
-He gets close to his nieces and his dead brother's woman. He even tells stories of his brother to his nieces and he's becoming a better person as a result.
-He smokes some pot with Portman (who isn't a square, c'mon now) and then BOOM! JAKE MAKES THE MOVE! (of course--this would've been the PERFECT end to the trailer).
-Wait...a doctor's office....Tobey is alive? Flashbacks to the war!
-He's home with Portman, his brother and his daughters! He's obviously traumatized by the events, though.
-Uh oh...he knows they slept together. Cue the daugther shoving it in his face!
-Tobey FLIPS OUT! AND TELLS THE COPS OUTSIDE TO SHOOT HIM!!!

And fade to the title.

Finally!

Ok, reading that made me laugh. That sounds kinda cheesy actually I know it's just a trailer, but going by the description, it seems a lot different from what I expected. I never saw the original, so maybe that's why. But why would they give all of that away in the trailer? Shouldn't Tobey's character being alive be a surprise? And the shooting part...um, melodramatic much? Maybe it'll look better than it sounds I really hope Brothers will be good, because Jake hasn't had a hit in awhile, and I sometimes worry about his career

Anyway, thanks for posting though! I was planning on seeing Public enemies already (LOVE Depp) so it'll be nice to see Jake as well

I'm hoping it will be like "Legends of the Fall". I guess we'll have to wait & see.

Problem is that many of the "war" films like "Valley of Elah" or "Rendition" bombed at the Box Office (and partly also with the critics).
This film has some disturbing, cruel war scenes. TPTB were obviously fearing the "fate" of the before mentioned movies (IMO also the reason for the delay).
So they are laying the focus on the family drama and the relationship of the characters. But I donīt understand why they felt the need to give so much of the plot away.

And I really, really hope (sorry Atalley ) that this film will NOT be in any way like "Legends of the fall"....

I'm with you, Carla--once was more than enough with Legends of the Fall. However, that story with Jake in it would work for me, and maybe that's what Atalley meant: the doomed love. (Sounds familiar, no?)

But trailers are not to be relied on. They exist to lure you into the theater, so too often they emphasize the wrong elements of the plot or characters, based on what the makers know or believe moviegoers want. I've been disappointed (or pleasantly surprised) on a number of occasions, thinking the film is going to be one thing and finding that it is another. A few years back the trailer for Dreamcatcher made the movie look fantastic. The critics blasted it to hell as a hodgepodge of lucidrous scenes, and I never bothered to go. Have also seen trailers for comedies and made sure not to miss them, to discover that the only comic bits in the entire film were in the trailer.

I deliberately skipped the spoiler post, so that when I see Brothers I'll have a fresh, unbiased eye.
