It feels like an eternity Hopefully we'll get to see some production and publicity shots before too long. I can't wait to see what Jake looks like as the PoP.

What a dissappointment! Does anyone know why?

The studio most likely wants more time and a better release date from which to release its summer tentpole in order to increase its chances of doing better business.

Blah. I dunno what to say! I can understand why they pushed the release date back a year .. but at the same time, I'm annoyed. I was really looking forward to this movie! 2 years is such a long time to wait. *sigh* But I'm sure it will be worth it.

Well this sucks.
I understand why they pushed back the release date - everyone will be going to see Transformers - but I was really looking forward to PoP. Plus then he would have two movies in 2009 - PoP and Nailed. Now we'll only have Nailed for 09.

Sorry to hear of your loss, Giorgetto.
My thoughts are with you.

What a pity that the release date is pushed back one year. At the same time it's understandable. Such a huge project needs all the time it can get, as filming itself will take till the end of December.
Filmmakers must also consider that a strike can come between. The film requires a lot of computer animations, which take time. I'm almost certain that the investors have a much bigger plan for this multi-million dollar PoP- SoT project.

A little update about the PoP filming:

If we can believe the IMDb website... the filming location for PoP is in Ouarzazate, Morocco.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0473075/locations

This could be true, since the Atlas Film Studio is situated in Quarzazate, and they are by far the largest film studio of Morocco.
Read more here: http://www.asiarooms.com/travel-guide/morocco/morocco-popular-destinations/atlas-film-studio,-quarzazate.html

The online travel brochures discribe Quarzazate as follow:
The south of Morocco is the land of the Sahara. Here, where life is only possible in oases and Kasbahs, these words, synonymous with water, have a magical ring. At Quarzazate, scarcely 200km from Marrakesh but in a different world, you stand on the threshold of the mighty Sahara. Standing on the edge of a vast desert plateau, with snow-covered peaks visible in the distance, this ancient garrison town retains an almost tangible connection with a distant past.

The snow-covered peaks they talk about are those of the Atlas Mountains. At the moment though, there would be little snow. It's bloody hot here in Morocco, friends said.

Interested to see where Quarzazate is situated?
http://www.bugbog.com/maps/africa/morocco_map.html

Oh yeah! Quarzazate has an airport. Jakey can fly home to Reese as soon as he's on leave.

I saw a picture of the PoP film sets in Morocco, but I can't find it anymore. Has someone of you seen that particular picture by any chance?
If not... I will continue to search the web, and post it afterward.

I don't think we've seen any onset pictures with Jake. But some tourists have taken photos of locations and sets for PoP. Not sure if one of these is the photos you're thinking of, Sheilah. But we compiled some of them in this post.

Hope we get to see some pictures of Jake in action soon!

We would also like to see a long-haired, half-naked Jake poo in action.

Thanks UltraViolet, it was the second one. Hugles!
Greetings to all of you at GyllenBabble.

It's quite interesting to see how the PoP decor is build... right in the neighborhood of the UNESCO-listed world heritage kasbah (old city) of At Benhaddou.

I took the liberty to post some photos in here:

The old kasbah of At Benhaddou in the High Atlas Mountains:

View on the river from the city's hilltops.
Since At Benhaddou is situated at the gate of the Sahara (very dry and hot), it wouldn't be possible to live there without the green oasises and the water from the Quarzazate and Dra river :

The Dra river Basin includes also the Quarzazate basin.

So guys, that's probably the exact spot where Jake is busy filming right now. At Benhaddou lays thirty-two km (20 miles) northwest of Ouarzazate, which is the Moroccan Holywood city, and hometown of the Atlas Studios.
