These are some lovely & amazing ideas! I def. love the recipe, art, around the world idea

I was thinking, maybe -

- A timeline of his life (make it funny ) to end/start the book
- List of awards that he's won w/ pictures accepting + other achievements (Winning magazine polls haha!)
- Captioned pictures (from the "Wha?" section)
- List of reasons we love him
- individual messages
- Or maybe... just maybe "You know you're a gyllenhaalic when". I don't know, some of the stuff posted in that thread are really creepy but hilarious as well.

I also think we should have some pages just for Brokeback Mountain because it's such a phenomenal film, and people are still talking about it even after half a year. We could have something like, "The Brokeback Effect" where we can talk about how it changed our lives or the way we look at things. I'm sure he would appreciate hearing from us in regards to the power of the movie because he has said that BBM means to him "more socially than artistically.".

Yeah, so those are basic ideas. Expand them if you wish!

Ok guys, I love the whole recipe/art book thing, but we HAVE done a book project for the past two years, so maybe we could do something different? I mean, we don't want to just go with the first idea that's thrown out there.

Here's what I was thinking. We could contact a charity/organization that's he's passionate about and see if they do donations in the name of other people. Then we could donate money in Jake's name and then if we raise enough, some organizations will make like a plaque thing and give it to him, or we could just create a plaque that says "we raised $_____ in your name at ______ Happy Birthday, yadda yadda.." and then have everyone's name that contributed on it.

I think that would be more meaningful to him and that would make us look better, haha.

Since there are Gyllenhaalics from different countries and cultures, i propose that each one gives a traditional recipe of her/his country. We can even divide it in to categories like Meat, Fish and Disserts.

For those who don’t know how to cook, can allways find a recipe in books and magazines.

Maybe we will get in to Guiness as the largest recipe book in the world, ah!ah!ah!

Well we don't have to have everyone's name on there, that would be pretty big...but that idea just kind of popped into my head as I was typing that out, lol.

I think thats a great idea!Jake would definately appreciate it...the problem is though that jakes fans are universal and donating the money would be a problem for some people

Well you don't have to donate a lot. Think about it, if everyone on this site just donated $1, that's over $7,000 to whatever organization we choose.

Well we'd have to talk to the organization and see how they handle donations of that sort.

I think the recipe book is looking like a good idea!

I have a box full of my grandma's original recipe's from Italy. They are in Italian though, so I'll need some time to translate!

Good thinking!
