I think the donations thing is a good idea! I'm not sure about the balloon release guys... that may be TOO much haha! I'm thinking of starting this sometime in August. Which charities or organizations should we consider for the donation? (Please note that they have to be ones that Jake likes )

ALSO I think another book is cool too... We need to list what to put in it though! so post your ideas!

Well the first one that obviously came to mind was the ACLU, but I'm trying to think of some others that we know he's been involved in. Do I smell a list coming on?

1. ACLU
2. Democratic National Convention or whatever the hell it's called.

If anyone has an idea, please copy and paste and add to the list.

Ooo. Good find with that website. So for any of these we should send an actual business letter to them with our questions, then they'll be more likely to take us seriously.

Noooooo, not ACLU. Ugh, I know Jake likes them and all.. but seriously, the money should go to something/someone that NEEDS it, ike a childrens hospital.. somewhere the money will be put to really, really good use.

And I must say that I officialy dislike the ACLU immensely for supporting protest at funerals. I think that's one of the most disgusting and disrespectful things anyone could possibly ever do.

Maybe an International charity - because we're an international group of people. Personally I wouldn't be too keen on donating to a foreign political party

How about UNISEF or RED CROSS?

They are international non political organizations, so everyone will be pleased.

And a book too. I stil think the recipe book a good idea.

Just continue the list...all we're doing is brainstorming now, so any idea is good at this point.

And Caitlin, I had no idea that they supported the protests at the funerals! wtf?! That's just disgusting.

On JakeGyllenhaal.com, there is a list of the causes he supports. I do not know if they are good or not.

Anyway, I think UNICEF and the RED CROSS are the best, because they are international.

But I let you continue the list... Let's see if there is a good one!

I've been thinking, and as much as I LOVE both ideas, I think we should only do one. We want to be able to focus our attention on one goal, and we need to save ideas for later years. But that's just my $0.02.

What you mean like either the donation OR the book?

What about considering www.livestrong.org? Jake's practically been a walking billboard for it lately, so we know it's one he's currently thinking a lot about. If he does wind up doing the Lance A. biopic it'd be another way of showing support as well.

Yeah ,i agree in a way aswell....we dont want to do to much all at once.

About www.livestrong.com ,i like the general idea and Jake sure does seem to be interested in it,but i have a bad feeling the whole "Lance Armstrong" thing may be like just a passing friendship... like a phase of sorts... so the donation could end up meaning nothing to Jake after a while .... maybe im just being stupid.
