Jake is not hosting SNL at this time

Well it's not really confirmed yet, but with Brothers coming out on December 4th, it makes sense to have him host again on December 5th.
ETA: Nevermind it was a rumor, oh well.
It was noted on Twitter:
I saw it on Wet Dark and Wild. They also posted a cool picture of Jake with his glasses for New Eyes for the Needy.

Whoa! My fingers are crossed in all directions! I have been hoping for a return to SNL since the original blockbuster appearance in January 07. Can you believe it's been that long? I remembered it as 08.
Beautiful picture too, with the glasses, and a worthy cause. I wish Jake would show up from time to time with eyeglasses (sunglasses don't count). He'd make wearing glasses hot! The only time we've seen him with eyeglasses that I know of is in Proof, that brief scene when he collides with Gwyneth Paltrow in the hall. I didn't think they were the most attractive frames for his face, but that probably was the point, to make him look like a scholarly type who didn't pay attention to such things.

I hope the hosting thing isn't just a rumor because he'll be great at hosting again.
Someone at NBC emailed me and said it wasn't true (I don't believe them), but I asked them how they know and they danced around my question and said NBC doesn't make any statements about hosts until they've been officially announced.
I wanted to ask, "Well then that means you DO know who is and isn't hosting." But I didn't because I didn't want to push this person's buttons.
Whatever... I guess we'll have to wait and see. Fingers crossed.

I'm not sure if this will be a new one or a repeat of the one Jake was on. I know SNL does take a break during the holidays. So I guess we'll have to stay tuned

Well the tweet does say that 50 Cent will be the musical guest...was he the musical guest on Jake's last episode? If not, then we have our answer

The musical guest on the 2007 episode was The Shins .. so yeah, 50 cent being on the show means it's brand new.  Hope it's true!
